Nice and clean gym, would expect some more training machines though. On the good side it is accessible 24 hours.
Very friendly staff that I have met some far, it's changed since I went some years ago so I should ask for a proper tour.
Im surprised this company hasnt been inundated with complaints about the poor hygiene environment! No cleaning materials for customers to use after using the equipment. And the changing rooms are filthy most of the time. Furthermore...I man from London, but live in Brazil and I'm embarrassed to say, the local Gym where I workout in Brazil (a developing country), which is of a similar profile as PureGym, makes PureGym look like a pig stye in comparison. I have included pictures of cleaning stands /kiosks that are sprinkled throughout the gym for easy access to all. Small disposable cleaning cloths are included, and this is the case for all locations in Brazil, not just the one(s) I frequent!!! They also have cleaning staff around the clock on site constantly cleaning the bathrooms and other areas of the gym. I won't even get into the fact that they also have a round-the-clock maintenance person (there during peak hours) as well! Google "Smart Fit - So Carlos" and check-out the ratings if you don't believe me. The Hygiene issue at PureGym is not limited to Wandsworth. It's a general operational issue across all locations; a sad case of management cutting costs at the expense of members' health, which is shameful and embarrassing.
For the price no complaints at all. Friendly mixed group of staff. As expected it becomes busy in the evenings but still manageable. Nice atmosphere. Nice building. Nice equipment. Looks to be accessible for those with disability needs. I'm not your stereotypical gym member and was worried about feeling uncomfortable, but this worry was unfounded. Been going three years now.
Great gym with lots of space and equipment. The instructors are all very helpful and the place is generally well maintained. There is a good atmosphere most nights with plenty of regulars. The only downsides are that it gets very busy Mon-Thu evening between 5 and 9pm and the upstairs room (with treadmills/step/bikes) gets very warm and humid. They need to install proper air-conditioning in this room.
