The first port of call was I pressed 7 and got through to an advisor, her customer service interactions were very bad. She eventually got me to the right department. Her whole manner was not good she really sounded as though she could not be bothered, this is the first time I have called Wandsworth council, and hopefully the last if my message is replied to.
Credit to them for their IT department improving a very cumbersome job search facility where you had to open jobs in a separate tab/window to avoid reloading the search results every time, which you could add to but couldn't retrieve from your bookmarks, nice old-fashioned town hall and some friendly staff, hence the 3 stars (but this is too generous - I'd give 2.5 if I could).Much less credit for the fact that two months after attending an interview with the Environment and Community Services Directorate and writing to the Chief Executive to complain about these issues a month later, I have still not heard back from them regarding the outcome of my interview after they promised to get back to me within a week, and I never heard back from them after I left two messages regarding a specific job and the problems with the job search mentioned above on the "Enquiries, suggestions and complaints" form of their website. Really need to work on communication and common courtesy, not just concerning those who happen to work and live in the area!Simon
What do you expect, lowest council tax, staff shortages, ridiculous CE salary, newly appointed directors, managers on the back of experienced staff redundancies and you get an automated voice, a 3 way split of shared services saving money! what service do you really want then, pay a little extra and get real people to talk to, simples....no I do not work for WBC, nor labour , Conservative or Lib dems.
Very disappointing services. Can only ever get through to an automated voice machine. Does not offer services to approve housing accommodations for visa applications unlike other councils. Have been paying council tax for the past 3.5 years when i now realise that I should have been exempt from paying, however cannot get any response after several emails and phone calls. I do wonder if I will ever hear back from them, let alone receive a refund!
Very poorly impressed by Wandsworth Council. Just received a penalty charge notice for stopping in a yellow box area at a junction. What the very efficient employee or computer system of the Council did not consider is that this was secondary to an emergency stop due to a pedestrian running in the junction, which I clearly remember and is clearly seen on the pictures attached the the PCN. Next time I will not stop, I am insured against this kind of accidents, not against the stupidity of the Council.
